Unstoppable Love

There was an old woman who lived with her two grandchildren.She was wealthy and had very many ducks that she loved.One day when the two kids were playing at the compound, the boy accidentally killed one of the ducks.Scared that the grandmother would be furious ,he asked his sister not to tell on him.The sister agreed on condition that she would enjoy anything that the grandmother would offer the boy.Days passed and the girl used the accident to blackmail the boy.One day, the grandmother bought a ticket for a game that the boy loved ;the sister wanted to watch and as usual blackmailed the boy.Having failed to convince her, he decided to tell the grandmother the truth.The grandmother smiled at him when he told her the story and said “That day when you killed that duck,I saw you and forgave you.I only wanted you to come and say what you did.”.This is a story that my CRE( Christian Religious Education) teacher told me in primary school about God’s forgiveness.This story is a good example of how sometimes we feel after we sin.We are scared to go before God because we condemn ourselves and let the devil blackmail us .

When you pray for forgiveness from God, do you accept it or do you spend time feeling guilty?.Most times when Christian’s sin , even after praying for forgiveness they still feel guilty because they don’t accept that God has forgiven them.Because of condemning ourselves, we may find ourselves leading lives that are not Godly because we are guilty.We forget that Jesus paid it all for us when He died on the cross.Jesus made it right when He died on the cross for us.Its hard for us to understand God’s unconditional love because in the world we do not experience that and therefore when God shows us His unconditional love we doubt it .In the book of Romans 8:38- 39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39. neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.God’s love for us is unstoppable and nothing can separate us from him.For us to receive God’s love we need to believe that He loves us, we should believe that we are forgiven;In the book of 1 John 1;9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness”.We need to confess our sins and have faith that God has forgiven us and firmly stand to our ground.If you doubt that God has forgiven you,read your Bible and declare with scriptures out loud so that you can renew your mind.My best verse when I feel unworthy before God is Psalms 139:1-8 “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.2 You know when I sit and when I rise;you perceive my thoughts from afar.3 You discern my going out and my lying down;you are familiar with all my ways.4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.5 You hem me in behind and before,and you lay your hand upon me.6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,too lofty for me to attain.7 Where can I go from your Spirit Where can I flee from your presence?8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there if I make my bed in the depths, you are there”..Don’t give up on God because we wont give up on you and His love for you is Unstoppable.
